I said in a previous blog article we would come back to this word Moses uses here for God, and in the original language of Genesis, this one word is in the plural. Many people have read much into this, and some have not read enough into this occurrence, this word “Elohim”.
As we consider this theme over the next several blog articles, we are going to consider first, this is, as revealed to us in Scripture, God’s first great work of inspiration. In other words, God literally spoke (breathed out) all of creation into existence. With the power of His voice, we exist!
In my last article, we considered who wrote the book of Genesis, and for that matter, who wrote the first five books of the Bible, the Pentateuch. In this article, we are going to consider some of the possibilities to this question: why did Moses write Genesis? I believe we have several reasons Moses sat and wrote the Book of Beginnings, Genesis.
