“Being thankful is a basic aspect of what it means to trust in Christ for salvation. The idea of setting aside a specific time for expressing thankfulness is rooted in the Christian faith. It is also a part of our culture, particularly in terms of celebrating how the Lord has blessed us not only spiritually but also with all of the blessings of life. One of the things which is interesting about our tradition of Thanksgiving is that we praise God and celebrate His blessings by enjoying those blessings. God’s people have often responded to having received great blessings from God by means of celebration.”
