Reverend Maynard Koerner

Dr. Maynard Koerner, Professor of Ministerial Studies

Pastor, holds a B.A. in History from Dordt College in Sioux Center, IA, an M.Div from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS, and a D.Min. from New Geneva Seminary in Colorado Springs, CO. His doctoral dissertation has recently been published as book entitled Pastoral Ministry from a Covenantal Perspective (2014). Dr. Koerner serves Heidelberg Theological Seminary as a full-time Professor.

He served in pastorates at Ebenezer RCUS of Shafter, CA and Hope RCUS of Sutton, NE; Organizing Pastor of new mission works in Covenant RCUS of Watertown, SD and High Plains Reformed Chapel, RCUS of Calhan, CO; Associate Pastor of Trinity Covenant RCUS in church plant work in Pueblo and Calhan, CO; and recently served as pastor of St. John’s Reformed Church of Lincoln, NE.

During his tenure as a pastor, he served as President of the South Central Classis and the Northern Plains Classis of the RCUS. He has been affiliated with the North American Presbyterian and Reformed Council (NAPARC) for a number of years, currently serving as treasurer. His prior community service includes membership on the Board of Trustees of New Geneva Seminary, Colorado Springs, CO; Board of Trustees of Dordt College, Sioux Center, IA; and the Sutton Christian School in Sutton, NE.

Reverend Spencer Aalsburg

The Reverend Spencer Aalsburg, Adjunct Professor of Hebrew

Pastor, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Religion from Central College in Pella, IA and a Master’s of Divinity from Mid-America Reformed Seminary in Dyer, IN.

He was ordained as a minister of Word and Sacraments in the United Reformed Churches of North America, and currently serves as the church planting pastor of Sioux Falls United Reformed Church.

He has spoken at conferences on such topics of Marriage and Family, Child Rearing, The Marks of the Church, and John Calvin’s use of Preaching & Psalmody. Recently he has contributed two chapters to the book Planting, Watering, Growing: Planting Confessionally Reformed Churches in the 21st Century (Reformation Heritage, 2011).

Reverend Travis Grassmid

The Reverend Travis Grassmid, Adjunct Professor of Biblical Studies and Counseling

Pastor, holds a B.D. degree from Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary located in Greenville, South Carolina.

He was ordained into the ministry in the United Reformed Church of North America, serving as an associate pastor of Bethel United Reformed Church in Jenison, MI. In 2011, he accepted a pastoral call to Zion Reformed Church RCUS in Menno, SD.

In addition to pastoral duties, Rev. Grassmid served as a Pastor of Congregational Life at Bethel URC with focus to counseling, visitation, and teaching. He taught at RCUS youth camp, served as a conference speaker and is currently preparing for advanced studies in Ministry.

Reverend Vernon Pollema

The Reverend Vernon Pollema, Adjunct Professor of Doctrinal Studies

Pastor, holds a B.A. degree from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI (included two years of study at Dordt College located in Sioux Center, IA) and a M.Div. degree from Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, PA.

He was ordained into the ministry of the Reformed Church of the United States (RCUS) in Upham, North Dakota in 1964. Rev. Pollema pastored Peace and Kassel Reformed Churches RCUS located in Upham and Lincoln Valley, ND; the Emmanuel Reformed Church RCUS in Sutton, NE; and St. John’s Reformed Church RCUS of Lincoln, NE. In 1987, he assumed his last pastorate at Ebenezer Reformed Church RCUS in Shafter, California, and the honor of Pastor Emeritus conferred upon him, retiring in 2009.

He is the radio pastor of the weekly Grace & Truth Broadcast and for ten years served in a prison ministry for inmates of the Corcoran State Prison in Corcoran, CA. Rev. Pollema served as President of the Executive Committee of the RCUS, having served in this capacity an accumulated 25 years beginning in 1979. He is also a frequent contributor to the Reformed Herald.

Reverend Paul Treick

The Reverend Paul Treick, Adjunct Professor of Doctrinal Studies

Pastor, holds a B.A. degree from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI and a M.Div. from Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, PA.

Ordained to the ministry in the RCUS in 1970, he has served congregations in Ashley, ND; Napoleon, OH, and retired from his last pastorate at Modesto, CAin 2010.

He has served on various committees in the RCUS; has been involved in foreign mission work for the Congo since 1984. Presently serves on the Radio Administration Committee of Reformed Faith and Life (French Speaking).

He served six years on the Board of Trustees of Westminster Theological Seminary in California. He was a longtime Stated Clerk of the Synod of the RCUS and currently Editor of the Reformed Herald. His writings include Our God and His People in the Old Testament and Faith of Our Fathers: A Study of the Five Points of Calvinism.

Reverend Michael Voytek

The Reverend Michael Voytek, Adjunct Professor of Old Testament Studies

Pastor, was ordained to the Gospel ministry in 1998 having served as the pastor of Harvest Reformed Church in Minot, ND for four years and Providence Reformed Church in Lodi, CA for almost 10 years. He is currently serving as a Missionary Pastor in the Los Angeles Basin at Rehoboth Reformed Chapel in La Habra, CA. He has also served as Adjunct Professor of Hebrew and Old Testament at City Seminary of Sacramento from 2003 until the present.

Michael holds a M.Div. degree from Westminster Theological Seminary in California. In 1980, he served as a missionary assistant in Micronesia. In 1981, he was involved in the planting of a church that started as an independent, charismatic church and later became a Reformed Presbyterian church. He served that church as a deacon for two years and later as an elder for 10 years before attending seminary. Since joining the RCUS, he has also been involved in RCUS home and foreign missions initiatives.
