Ted Griess, President, is an inactive elder at Hope Reformed Church, RCUS, in Sutton, Nebraska. He has a B.S. from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln and a J.D. from the University of Nebraska College of Law. He is currently the Clay County Attorney, Clay County, Nebraska and a partner in the Law Offices of Baird & Griess. He has served as President of the Clay County Republican Party and the Sutton Commercial Club as well as Chairman of the Clay County Child Abuse Investigation & Treatment Teams and the Clay County Drug Board. He has served the Hope Reformed consistory as Secretary, Treasurer and Vice President.
The Reverend Mr. George Syms, Vice President, holds a B.Sc. from Miami Christian College and a M.Div. from The Theological Seminary of the Reformed Episcopal Church. He has served as pastor of Peace Reformed Church (RCUS), Upham and Kassel Reformed Church (RCUS), Lincoln Valley, ND; Home Missionary at Sovereign Grace Reformed Church (RCUS), Hollywood, FL; Minot Reformed Church (RCUS), Minot, ND; Chalmers Memorial ARP Church, Charlotte, NC; Salem Reformed Church (RCUS), Ashley, ND and Hosmer Reformed Church (RCUS), Hosmer, SD; Emmanuel Reformed Church (RCUS), Sutton, NE; Northland Reformed Church (RCUS), Kansas City, Mo; Grace Reformed Church (RCUS), Mitchell, SD and is currently the pastor of Covenant Reformed Church (RCUS), Watertown, SD. He also served as the former president of South Central Classis of the RCUS.
Dr. Michael Burbach, Secretary, is an inactive elder at St. John’s Reformed Church RCUS in Lincoln, NE. He holds a D.D.S. from the University of Nebraska Medial Center College of Dentistry and a B.S. degree in Biology and German from the University of Nebraska. He is the private parctice dentist at North Star Dental in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Paul Maassen, Treasurer, is a member of Covenant Reformed Church(RCUS) in Watertown, SD currently serving as deacon and treasurer of the church. He holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of South Dakota and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He currently serves as Chief Financial Officer for Building Products Inc., located in Watertown, SD.
Dick DeGroot, is an inactive Elder at Trinity Reformed Church RCUS in Sioux Falls, SD. He has a a two year degree in Electronics, is a Certified Electronic Technician including course studies in Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Refrigeration, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. His is a Senior Maintenance Technician in manufacturing and a Board Member for People Business Care.
Matthew Fickbohm, is an Elder at Hope Reformed Church RCUS in Pierre, SD. He holds a B.S. in Accounting and History from the University of South Dakota. He is an Auditor with the state of South Dakota, Department of Legislative Audit.
The Reverend Mr. George Horner, pastor, holds a B.A. from the University of Rochester, Rochester New York; a M.Div. from Mid-America Reformed Seminary; and a D.C. from Northwestern College of Chiropractic. He was an officer in the Air Force serving as a meteorologist and then worked as a Doctor of Chiropractic in Minnesota. He first served the church as an Evangelist for the Iakota Classis of the Christian Reformed Church. He was ordained as a Minister of the Word by the Reformed Church in the United States. He has pastored Hope Reformed Church, RCUS; Sutton, Nebraska, Grace Reformed Church, RCUS; Bakersfield, California and now pastors Providence Reformed Church in Rock Springs, WY. Reverend Horner has written numerous articles for the Reformed Herald and has served as Stated Clerk of the South Central Classis, RCUS.
The Reverend Mr. Lee Johnson, pastor, holds a B.A. from Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC and a M.Div. from New Geneva Theological Seminary. He was ordained to the gospel ministry by the Northern Plains Classis of the Reformed Church in the United States. He served as pastor of First Reformed Church of Herreid, SD and currently serves as pastor of St. John’s Reformed Church located at Lincoln, NE.
The Reverend Mr. Randall Klynsma, pastor, has a BA in Philosophy from Dordt College and a M.Div. from Mid-America Reformed Seminary. He was ordained to the Ministry of the Word by the Federation of Orthodox Christian Reformed Churches. He served as pastor of Orthodox Christian Reformed Church in Ripon, CA and Trinity Orthodox Presbyterian Church (OPC) in Bridgewater, SD. He currently serves as pastor of Northland Reformed Church (RCUS) located in Kansas City, MO.
The Reverend Mr. Chuck Muether, pastor, holds a B.A. in English and a M.A. in Education from Dordt College in Sioux Center, IA; and an M.Div. from Heidelberg Theological Seminary. He was ordained into the gospel ministry in the Orthodox Presbyterian Church and currently serves as the pastor of the Hope Reformed Presbyterian Church (OPC) located at Pella, Iowa. Before attending seminary, Chuck taught English at Pella Christian Schools for 13 years.
The Reverend Mr. Vernon Pollema, pastor, holds a BA degree from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI (included two years of study at Dordt College located in Sioux Center, IA) and a Masters of Divinity degree from Westminster Theological Seminary located in Philadelphia, PA. He was ordained into the ministry of the Reformed Church of the United States (RCUS) in Upham, ND in 1964. Rev. Pollema pastored Peace and Kassel Reformed Churches located in Upham and Lincoln Valley, ND; the Emmanuel Reformed Church in Sutton, NE; and St. John’s Reformed Church of Lincoln, NE. In 1987, he assumed his last pastorate at Ebenezer Reformed Church in Shafter, California retiring in 2009. He was the radio pastor of the weekly Grace & Truth Broadcast and for ten years served in a prison ministry for inmates of the Corcoran State Prison in Corcoran, CA. Rev. Pollema retired from the pastorate in 2009 and served as President of the Executive Committee of the RCUS having served in this capacity an accumulated 25 years beginning in 1979. He is also a frequent contributor to The Reformed Herald.
